Infantile cerebral palsy (CP) refers to a large group of neurological disorders caused by a permanent, non-progressive lesion of the developing brain that occurs before, during or after birth. The presence of damage to the central nervous system variably affects both the overall motor function and the overall development of the child. The consequences of brain injury primarily affect posture and movement. These disorders can be associated with sensory, intellectual, communication, swallowing problems and emotional problems with difficulty in relating to others.
